Update from 10.0.5 to 10.5: error code 1612 installation source not found for Groove agent, padshop, retrolgue + Halion

Hi,

Just installed the updater from 10.0.5.0 to 10.5, but doesn’t update groove agent, padshop 2, retrologue and halion sonic se. Installation Error message say: installation source not found, check if source exists and if you have access to the source.
Of course I have access, Cubase 10.0.5 ran flawlessly.

Older versions of these 4 plugins seem to work allright in 10.5 though, they’re just not updated. I tried rerunning the update installer, but the error remains. Anyone knows how to update the plugins?

best, Peter

Hi,

As far as I know, the update updates just Cubase, nothing else. If you want to get the full install, install from the Full Installer, please.

Thanks for your reaction. I’ll try with the full installer, it seems so strange that I would be the only one with these error messages. Surely there will be loads of users that install the updade installer from 10 to 10.5.

Did you any change use a cleanup tool? Because this issue is usually the result of missing installation files that should reside in c:\Windows\Installer\ directory. I had the same issue on an older drive when I needed some space and thought I could just empty this folder because most programs don’t need these files anymore. But Steinberg installations do. I could restore them from a backup but if you don’t have them anymore you’ll probably have to try and install the full version over the existing one and then try to do the update again.
