Update from elicenser versions: officially no-go after 12/31/2024?

I’ve seen mentions that those of us who own older, hardware-elicenser versions of Cubase will no longer be able to upgrade after the end of 2024.

Is there an official statement from Steinberg somewhere that confirms this? Or at this point is it still speculation based on the hardware elicenser being discontinued?

For example, if one currently owns Pro 11, the update price is currently $199. If one does not update that to Pro12 within the next two months, is it confirmed true that they would then have to just purchase a new Pro12 (at $579 currently)?

Hi,

You can read all info here.

Yes, it is directly on the Homepage of Steinberg.

The Statement says “early 2025”, not 01.January.

Yes, because when the eLicenser Server is shutdown you can’t change the dongle anymore.

One important thing to mention is that your Cubase 11 license will continue to work, it is not disabled.

Thanks both, that’s the info I was looking for.
