When I want to add an effect in place of the channel strip or eq it makes me have to go back 3 times before I can access the main menu. Is it possible to add a “main menu” shortcut up top that bypasses having to go back 3 times every time?

Do you use the “Insert Effects” tab in the “Inspector”, located to the left of the Arrange window? It allows you to quickly change insert effects, swapping plug-in positions etc.
