Just a quick query from me, i have the same activation manager screen as above but I am sure somewhere it told me to update the current ELC. When doing that the error message is that server not available. Am I doing it correct and just need to wait for the issue to be resolved or should I not be trying to update the ELC at all?
Please send me a DAC for upgrade to 12!!!
I wait days but nothing!!!
The synchronization between Steinberg’s servers still doesn’t seem to work properly.
According to Steinberg’s email information (attached here - in German language) any successful upgrade to the new Cubase 12 product should be reflected by the fact that any Cubase 12 files should be then available in SDA’s “My Products” section. However, up to now this hasn’t happened yet, not even after a couple of days… Could you please check this issue? THX.

We’re investigating why these products aren’t showing up in the “My Products” section. In the meantime you should still be able to download Cubase 12 from the Cubase section of the Steinberg Download Assistant.
Hi guys. I don’t understand why you are responding to some posts but not others? I realise you might not yet have a solution yet but, an acknowledgment would be helpful and may prevent some of the frustration many of us are still feeling.
I’m wondering if I’m completely misunderstanding something here. So if CB 12 is now “dongle-less” what about all the other software? Now that I don’t need the dongle for CB I still have to tote it around for everything else, or not?
Hi @Brianm10, nothing personal! It’s just a very busy day…
When did you activate Cubase 11?
I do seem to have the exact same problem. My Cubase 11 upgrade was first bought and activated on 01/12/2021 and then reactivated because of a fresh windows installation on 29/01/2022. Now the eLicenser doesn’t seem to find it eligible for grace period. What do we have to do in this situation?
For those having issues with the Steinberg Activation Manager giving an “unknown error” when doing the grace period check, here is how to fix it.
If it does not fix the issue, no harm done, just re-enable admin rights on eLLC. This worked for me and I am now up and running.
Hi @lordward ,
Yes, per Steinberg posing elsewhere: for other Steinberg things (like Basic FX Suite, Wavelab, etc.), as well as any third party apps of course, we will still need to use the dongle.
Steinberg has said they plan to migrate most (all?) of their apps off the dongle, but no date given.
Ok, understood.
Appreciated all Cubase support team here to help.
Is it hard to film a youtube video for those users who is under Grace period rahter than “Press this link” to refer… Or let the users going thru all those pages of discussion ?
All steps taken but there are no steps described to take…
“You will be now directed to website and you can just follow the steps described there.”
No email is ever received and the link, which was previously broken, just takes you to /cubase/new-features/ web page
EDIT: Ive an open ticket that no one has replied to.
Just to be clear, the upcoming products on our roadmap will all switch across to Steinberg Licensing over the next 12-18 months. We’re still working on the options of what can be done to allow licenses on our older products to be switched across to allow people so lose the USB eLicenser.
Please bear with us, we’re working as hard as we can to get back to everyone.
I activated in Jan 2022.
I did have an issue recently (last month) where I had to purchase a new dongle and have all licenses transferred over - would that make a difference?
We’ll be fine. It will just take some time.
I’m still receiving “No Licenses Found” when I run the grace period check. My upgrade was purchased on 11/25/21 and activated shortly after that date.
Everything works at the moment, but Cubase 12 doesnt show up in “My Product Downloads” in the Download Assistant - is that a problem?
