Upgrade from Cubase Elements 10.5 to Pro 10.5

I need further clarification, please.

I purchased Cubase Elements 10.5 about 3 weeks ago and now decided to upgrade to Pro 10.5
However, the retail box I got has “upgrade from AI only” written on it. Can I go ahead with the activation or is it for AI only?

According to what you said you purchased software to upgrade a Cubase AI version to Cubase Elements 10.5. If that scenario is true, you should install the upgrade to Elements 10.5. Once the Elements 10.5 version is activated, you can then purchase software to upgrade from Cubase Elements 10.5 to Cubase Pro 10.5. Don’t forget that you will need to purchase (if you don’t already have one) a USB eLicense dongle for the Cubase Pro 10.5.

That means the retail box you are talking about is the upgrade to Pro 10.5? If so - did you buy it in the Steinberg online shop? Then it should be correct.
