Hey guys, I just tried to upgrade my current Cubase Elements 11 to Elements 14, bought the upgrade, entered the activation code (both ways: through download manager and mysteinberg) - and my eLicenser is not complying. I cannot do the upgrade. This would be crucial because I also got a new Mac and wanted to make use of the new three instances rule, so my old Mac can go in the rehearsal room and my new Mac stays at home - ideally both with Cubase 14.
Hi Jan, welcome to the forum!
Could you also post a screenshot of the Steinberg Activation Manager? Is a Cubase license listed there? If not, I suggest to execute the Grace Period check available in the user menu at the top right of the Activation Manager.
Hi Martin, thank you for the welcome and the quick reply! In the meantime Cubase 14 showed up in my downloads, I installed it and was able to activate - now it just works, somehow, despite the error messages.
Isn’t it working in trial mode though??
What does that message translate to?
I suspect the reason for your complications is that the E11 license is, as it says grace period eligible, so maybe you should have upgraded to 12 for free first and then bought the 12 to 14 update. (which is also cheaper)
Try to verify your grace period eligibility here:
And if that works then you can get a refund for your incorrect update and buy the correct one - See the billing and refunds section here:
Thank you, Grim. You were absolutely right. I have successfully upgraded the old eLicense and am now running Cubase 14 on both my machines, as visible in my Steinberg account.
