Upgrade from Spectralayers 11 Pro

I cannot believe there is no upgrade plan available for users of Pro 11 who want to upgrade to pro 12! When you try to upgrade on your Steinberg account , you end up on an offer as if you were upgrading from Spectralayers Go to Spectralayers Pro 12! meaning a 10% cut from the full price! this is ridiculous! Especially when you can upgrade Pro 11 to Pro 12 in the US through resellers like Sweetwater for 89$!! A price that sounds about right in comparison with the norm of upgrade plans in similar products. NOT FAIR!

Initial upgrade cost for me from SL11 to SL12 was 78 euros. SB member just needs to log in and click on the correct buttons. The upgrade cost has currently risen to 90 euros (89.99) since early adoption discount period ended July 16/17.

I haven’t “upgraded” to SL12 yet. I didn’t feel the 12 euros was enough of a savings to adopt early and deal with teething. I can cope with an extra 12 euros when I’m ready to upgrade.

Maybe you just didn’t succeed in clicking the right buttons in your SB acct? Maybe you checked at SB site downtime/maint?

Hi Bernard and welcome to the forum!

I agree the terminology used by Steinberg can be a little ambiguous, but if you already have a SpectraLayers 11 Pro license then what you need is the update and not the upgrade, and that should currently cost you around the price you quoted from the reseller.

In Steinberg’s terminology, an “upgrade” refers to when you own a lesser edition such as Elements and you want to “upgrade” that to a Pro edition.

It’s just that the update/upgrade is not really clear on a user account.

You need to click on « buy" in the general Spectralayer 12 page (as if you were new to the product) and THEN you see the possibility of updating. That possibility should be right in your user profile page.

But thank you

Done now!
