Upgrade to Dorico 6 and eLicensing sunset on May 20

Today, I upgraded from Dorico 4 to Dorico 6 and during the installation, I noticed the word ‘eLicense’ several times. Does the Dorico 6 upgrade automatically move my machine to the Steinberg Licensing infrastructure, or do I need to do something else?

If you already had Dorico 4, it should be on the new licencing system already.
You can open Steinberg Activation Manager to check.
Or login to your account at steinberg.net (see image)

The Activation Manager shows Dorico 4 but not Dorico 6 even though all of the files have been downloaded. When I doubleclick on Dorico 6 (now in my Applications folder), it takes me to the UI of the Activation Manager which says “No licenses found.” What am I missing (other than a license…:-))

Did you buy the update license to Dorico 6, a major update is always a paid update.

Here’s my screenshot…

Did you buy a license upgrade from 4 to 6?
If you did, you should have an activation code, that you enter into the Steinberg Download Assistant. Then activate it in the Steinberg Activation Manager.
You don’t have to worry about the elicenser.
