Getting ready for a big change here. I’m planning to do simple upgrade for my DAW. just maxing out my current one with the max CPU it can hanlde, moving from I5 to I9 9900 CPU. I’m also planning on finally upgrading to windows 11 (fresh install), now that MS is putting more preassure to do so. I also will be upgrading from Nuendo 12 to 13. I’m compiling all recent versions of all my software, drivers etc., and droping for good any outdated software (vst 2.4 plugins, etc) or content (my old steinberg libraries/content that won’t continue to have steinberg licensing support, etc) , So now I can’t help but think, with the announcement of steinberg retiring the usb dongle. What’s going on with the AXR4 tools/software and plugins package, Is steinberg planning on migrating it to the new licensing system anytime soon??? I see that supposedly so they will, but no ETA, no nothing. I know the short answer is going to be, you can still use the dongle. But why should we have too? if Steinny pushed us to the new licensing scheme , why do we still have to have a USB dongle sticking out of our DAW’s if we shouldn’t have too?
Steinberg any clear answer on migrating the software to the new license system, and of course, an ETA for this? I don’t find " we don’t have a clear date yet" acceptable, I mean the AXR4 was quite an investment already…???
