UR22 interface not detected under macOS Monterrey 12.4 (Intel)

Hi,

I just upgraded my primary laptop to a 2019 MacBook Pro (Intel processor, the laptop only has USB-C ports) and tried connecting my UR-22 audio interface to it. However, the device is not recognized in System Report or in the Audio MIDI Setup applications. Additionally, the white USB light in the interface keeps blinking.

Here are the things that I’ve tried (so far):

  • Allow the installation of the kernel extensions in the “Security & Privacy” pane.
  • Install version 3.1.1 of the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver.
  • Uninstall Yamaha USB Driver v3.1.1 and install TOOLS 2.0.0 with the driver for UR22-C.
  • Install Yamaha USB Driver v3.1.1 alongside TOOLS.
  • Try three different USB-C to “normal” USB adapters.

Is there something that can be done to use the UR22 with macOS Monterrey 12.4 connected through an USB-C adapter?

Thanks a lot for your support,
Alex

Hi,

the same here. I also tried the whole thing with a USB-B to USB-C cable. Unfortunately, that makes no difference.

Thanks for the support.

Update:
I followed the steps in the “macOS: Anleitung zur Installation von Yamaha Steinberg USB/Thunderbolt-Treibern und TOOLS” report and now it is working  .

Thank you Support-Team!!
