Hi all, I cannot get my UR22 MKii to work as an audio output/input device. Whenever I select it, the volume controls are all greyed out and there is no audio output.
I suspect this is a driver issue. However, I was able to successfully install the Yamaha USB Driver. I followed all the steps to enable the kernel extension in privacy and security. I can even see the kernel extension is up and running in System Information.
I am very confused at this point. One strange thing is that even before the drivers were installed, the device still showed up. I am wondering if it is using the wrong drivers even after installing the new drivers and I don’t know how to make it use the correct ones.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Looks like it is not a driver problem. I just tried to uninstall and reinstall several times, multiple releases…
Do you have the latest firmware installed?
I have the same issue ! I installed the latest version (3.1.7) on my macos Sonoma, followed all the instruction of the pdf “installation guide” and the document “for the detailed installation description”. I tried to reboot my computer, tried to delete every single file linked to Steinberg with FindanyFile (but some files cannot be deleted, still don’t know why). And then I installed again, and again, the driver but nothing changes. If you find a solution, could you please let me know ?

This is the strange part, updating the firmware with the tool worked no problem after installing the driver. Just the audio portion of the driver that is broken.
I’ve not found the solution yet. I did confirm MIDI functionality is working fine, just no audio input/output. I tried with another 2015 MacBook Air running Monterrey, and same issue…
Okay. I AM INCREDIBLY DUMB. THIS IS APPARENTLY BY DESIGN!!!
You can only control input/output volume on the interface itself. Not inside macOS.
Same issue here even after firmware update on an M1 mac. I have output and MIDI works but will not input guitar or a mic.
Do you have the mix knob set to DAW?
Thinking of trying this beta driver Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V4.0.3b for Mac
