UR22 MKII USB 3.0

Is the UR22 USB 3.0 compatible? My new iMac only has three USB 3.0.
I bought it yesterday.

I have a friend who will soon be buying a 2014 Macbook Pro for use with this interface (UR22 MkII)

Looking at the specs, this computer has only 2 x USB 3.0 ports…there are no USB 2.0 ports.

Can he expect to power this interface using a USB 3.0 > USB 2.0 adapter cable ?

I see in this thread: Steinberg Forums

the poster was able to connect a Belkin USB hub…is that a viable solution to converting a USB 3.0 port to USB 2.0 …or is using such a hub not necessary ?

In addition, his Macbook will have High Sierra (10.13) OSX installed…is that going to work with the UR22 MkII ?
