UR22mkII - garageband won't pick up sound anymore

Hi,
up until recently I’ve used my UR22mkII to record my guitar sounds on Garagaband for a few years, with success.
Suddenly, without any changes done, no incoming sound can be detected anymore (not from my guitar, nor a mic).

I did not change anything in the settings.

Garageband recognizes my ur22 device when plugged in, but no sound.

In the meantime I have:

  • updated garageband to the latest version
  • uninstalled en re-installed the steinberg software
  • installed the lastest driver

The currently installed macOS is Catalina (10.15.3)
Can anybody please help me out?

Same thing just happened to me yesterday, only thing I can think of is the Catalina update from 10.15.15 to 10.15.16, did everything you did, switched out cables and everything. using Logic Pro X. Not input signal detected on mics or guitar. Even more so, no output signal from headphones either! I have the UR22.
