hello, I am having issues with cubase 14, I’ve been a cubase user for decades, and the problem is puzzling me. I do have a Mac mini m4 pro, the interface was working perfectly fine, and out of the sudden, the powered input high z for guitar is failing to send the signal t9o the DAW. it appears as is struggling, and the signal is not working properly , as it seems as sometimes sends an intermittent signal, and then it silence the input like if nothing was connected to it. is not the input, because the input is working properly fine when I dial the knopb to raw signal, is when is dialed to Daw that is not working. the audio connections are as they were before the problem started. everything else is working, the problem seems to be only the inputs. forget to mention none of the 2 inputs are working as daw, one;y raw, headphones perfectly fine, the outputs to monitors perfect as well. if you got something that might light my path I would really appreciate it. thanks
Hi,
is there a plugin somewhere along the path that is in trial mode?
Hi i’m having exactly the same issue it was all working fine the past years but suddenly i had this issue for the past 2 days ! Do you found why your sound card was doing that please ? Both input 1&2 work when the knob is turn on ‘input’ but when turned on ‘daw’ the signal kind of click in logic pro and just happen to pass for a second every 15s almost. I checked everything all my cables (usb 2.0, jack, xlr) are ok, so i don’t really understand if the problem happen within the sound card or my daw. Please if you found the solution or ifyou happen to know anything about it please help !
Hi and welcome to the forum!
In your case I would try to increase the buffer size in your DAW.
A little explanation:
If you turn the knob towards DAW then you’ll hear the processed signal that is routed through your DAW and back. If it’s turned all the way down to Input than it’s just the direct signal that goes into your audiointerface so there’s nothing to process.
Solved. Thanks for the feedback guys. Neither of the possible solution was correct. The way I solved it was to turn off and on the interface. For some reason if the interface turns on with the pc, meaning that the power is already set to on when you turn on the pc, the second input preamp don’t get enough power to take the signal from the guitar pick up to 1 volt. Once you tune it off and on with Cubase open it should work.
I’m glad you found a solution. I doubt that this is on the audiointerface, though. I would think that it has something to do with the USB port on your Mac. Have you tried another USB port, yet?
Hey thank you for your answers and suggestions unfortunately either turning it on and off when the daw is open or changing the buffer size don’t change the problem, though the signal is longer when the buffer size is higher but it’s still bugging and clicking.
I forgot to mention that when on daw my sound card work normally if i play any audio or midi from logic pro. The issue is only on the input coming from the sound card when sent to the computer it seems to bug somehow. I already tried changing my usb cable as well as my usb-c / usb adaptator it changes nothing. As i said it don’t even seems to be the real issue because when playing any part of my projects on logic it work fine. Also to be more precise i suspected i had to update my laptop so i did over night but it still don’t work (so it shouldn’t be a computer software issue)
Please if you have any idea what it could be with all those details ?
Hi @thelia.bouquet ,
it gets kind of confusing in this thread because your issue might have different roots which cause the problem at hand.
Have you checked if there’s a plugin which is on trial mode? This kind of regular interruption might be due to an unauthorized plugin which is in trial mode. Also, make sure to install the latest ASIO driver and firmware for your audiointerface.
If this problem persists it might be better to open a separate thread and provide more details like
- audiointerface
- system specs of your computer
- OS
- DAW version
