I have never had this issues ever on any other interface.
I turned down the gain of input 3 which has my synth plugged into it and I still get tons of signal.
Also one time I was recording vocals and even though the main output knob (for my studio monitors) was all the way down, there was a healthy amount of signal and you could hear the track .
I have been making music a long time and have always been able to turn a knob to ZERO and have ZERO input/output.
Is this a hardware issue? Or software? I use Cubase Pro 12. Can deleting the DSPfx suite software solve this? I just need a normally operating interface like all mine have been over the last 15 years…
The left position of the gain knob means +6dB amplification in Mic sensitivity setting.
The line level settings range from -10 to 44dB.
It isn’t a volume knob. That is a normal behavior of preamps.
I was told that but having owned many units over the years, Ive never turned a knob all the way left and had a signal. This happens with the main output to my monitors too. I can hear a little bleed through. Ive not had this issue on any other interface. I changed the setting to -10db too. I have the gain knobs, the cubase mix console in knob, the dsp mixer knob all doing the same thing. What a mess?! That not including volume/gain on an external unit/inst
My Focusrite never did this. all the way left was zero input…same with all units Ive owned.
