USB dongle or not on newer pc after older already had windows reinstall on old pc reactivated

Here is transcript of the advice and apparent solution I was offered to be able to continue to use Cubase 11 Elements (subsequent to Elicenser closing down on 20th May). It Seems I am not so sure I am going to receive a USB as I had no reply about when that will be since my last email, and it is in my best interests to ask for a solution seeing as it will be too late in a few days. See below thread. From original to last in that order.

Of which I of course replied with address for the USB dongle.

Can you please advise what is my best course of action to ensure I can use Cubase 11 Elements on the new computer based on the reference emails.
Basically it has been said that I should get a usb dongle for reliability because of mobility (or lack thereof with elicenser and also because I had a reactivation due to a windows reinstall on old pc being used, whereas because “also” got another pc this is apparently why I need the usb.

Please advise so I can continue to use Cubase 11 elements in the future on the new PC.

From what you wrote here I think you expect Steinberg to send you a USB dongle for your license. That will not happen, because this USB eLicenser is a hardware stick you need to buy in a shop that offers it.

From your profile I think you are in New Zealand, so you can try the Amazon shop.

If you want to activate your Cubase Elements software on a new computer right now, you can do so by following the steps in the below document. However, this needs to be done before 20th of May.

Thanks Juergen, helpful. I was waiting because I was under the impression that some usb’s would be decommissioned at the yamaha store in Melbourne. It’s true to note that I usually don’t have a need for older verions like 11, but everyone can get nostalgic as I recorded many songs on cubase 11.
