Use Apple airpods on macbook with Cubase @ 44.1

hi guys,

i use Cubase since forever at 44.1 and thats fine.
Now, due to deadline im forced to quickly take my airpods and connect to my laptop (big headphones are in the studio, im at home).
The silly airpods FORCE me to work in 48, and everything sound smurfie.

Is there a workaround for this?

I have other hearphones in the house, but im just baffled i cant use these uber standard airpods in Cubase on mac! This should be easy peasy, but its not.

I tried aggr device but it doesnt let me play a project in 44.1

Any ideas? Thanks!

from what I know the airpods work with an aac codec and force all audio to 48 khz

Ahh I remember the first time I thought my AirPods would be a great idea late at night, and I watched Ableton Live upsample my entire project to 48k for me before I could start working..

They’re fixed at 48k, there’s no setting the AirPods to anything else.

you leave the mac on internal audio driver, output to speakers…
