Use for new note selection feature?

Just curious: the new feature that allows for selection of all notes if the same pitch following—how are people using this? I’m having trouble imagining where one would need the feature, though I know there must be situations.

The primary motivation for implementing this in Dorico is to make it possible for us to also implement it in the Scoring Editor in Cubase in future, since this is a common editing operation in Cubase’s MIDI editors and was supported by the legacy Score Editor.

I’m not a Cubase user—yet—but would imagine a feature like this being VERY useful when working with a particular “chunk” of MIDI (whatever might similarly be called a “region” or “clip” in other DAWs), where sections of a piece might often be small and separated, but far less useful if one cannot assign an ending point in a score. Hence my question. Thanks!

Indeed, in the Score Editor in Cubase, you’re typically working with a single MIDI region, so it’s usually a bit shorter than a whole flow.
