Use previous note duration instead of quarter note each time double clicking

Hi.
Each time I double click to insert new notes, the rhythm input goes back to quarter note.
How do I change the set up so, each time I double click to input a new note, the rhythm input remains the previous used ?

Currently the only way to get a different length when showing the caret is to select a note of that length first. This has been requested and discussed before on the forum.
