Hi - really stupid question: my cursor has changed to Scissors. How do I reset to Arrow please?

you can either use shortcuts (numerical keys 1-9) or right click and pick a tool from the toolbox 
You may have to use Rock first, because Paper will lose!
(I waited until a solution was presented!

That’s because your numeric keypad (coder edition) consists of zeros and ones only. You have never heard of an arrow tool before, admit it!
