In Cubase 15, I set the key bindings for “User Interface Scaling: Increase / Decrease.” However, when I attempt to use the bindings, I receive the following message:
“The key combination assigned to the command ‘User Interface Scaling: Increase’ is not currently available.”
It doesn’t matter which key combination I assign—the same issue occurs every time. This feature should always be accessible given its purpose. When I adjust the scaling through the settings dialog and select Apply, it works as expected, so I’m not sure what’s causing this issue.
Hi Broth3rz,
This appears to be an issue where the “User Interface Scaling: Increase/Decrease” commands in Cubase 15 may not have key binding support, or the commands aren’t properly recognized by the key binding system.
Here are some troubleshooting steps:
-
Check if the commands exist in the Key Commands list: Go to Edit > Key Commands and search for “User Interface Scaling”. Make sure the exact command names are visible in the list.
-
Use the Preferences UI directly: As you mentioned, adjusting scaling through Preferences > User Interface > Application Scaling works. You can set your preferred scaling level there and rely on this method until the key bindings issue is resolved.
-
Report to Steinberg Support: This might be a bug in Cubase 15. Consider reporting it to Steinberg support with your exact key combination attempts, as the command may not be fully exposed to the key binding system in this version.
-
Check Cubase Release Notes: The User Interface Scaling feature was newly added/modified in Cubase 15, so it’s possible there are still some issues with its key command integration that Steinberg is aware of and may fix in an update.
For now, using the Preferences dialog is the most reliable workaround.
Best regards
Thanks for the reply.
Check if the commands exist in the Key Commands list
Of course they exist as that’s how I found them, not to mention you know that they do as you posted an image of them in another thread.
Use the Preferences UI directly
Of course this is what I’d have to use since the keybinds aren’t working. But I’m trying to set these up in my keybind template that has over 100 buttons.
Report to Steinberg Support
They just added this so I’d hope that when you add something to a software, you test it, so they should know if there are issues with it. What’s the best way to report bugs? This forum?
Check Cubase Release Notes:
I won’t hold my breath as we could not get an update for many months since they are so irregular. Though since version 15 just came out, I’m sure that we will get an update once a month (ish) about 2 or 3 times before version 16.
I know when commands aren’t able to be used you’d usually get those messages, but it should be available considering what it is. If anyone knows how to fix this let me know please.
