This bug is described here.
It seems that the userpreferences.xml file becomes too large and it may cause a few things:
- Selected preferences preset doesn’t remain selected and always reverts to default
- It takes a very long time to select a pref preset
- userpreferences.xml becomes a strange large file
- Some preferences settings don’t save at all (in my case, meter colors)
The solutioned seemed to be deleting the userpreferences.xml file. I did that previously. And I’ve done it again but this time it doesn’t work. Below is a video of me attempting to select a preference preset.
- I click on the preset dropdown at the 7 second mark
- The drop down opens around the 3:13min mark (3 mins!)
