Using a brace with sub bracket in Keyboard notation

Hi Everyone,
Weird use case here. I want to be able to combine a bracket and a brace for my keyboard part, without effecting the use of brackets and sub brackets in the rest of the score.

Here is the scenario:
I’m writing a piece that requires the instrumentalists to sing a refrain at the end of each section.

I want to keep using brackets and sub-brackets for my string players in the rest of the score to group the instrument and the vocal. I would like to use a bracket and brace only on the keyboard part.
Is this possible, or are there any suggestions for achieving this?

Here is a visual:

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Lilycat, if you are working with Dorico Pro you can set up and change your brackets and sub-brackets in Engrave Mode. You will need to hold down the alt key to make the changes.

Hi @k_b any more info on that? I’m using Dorico Pro, but holding down alt doesn’t do anything apart from let me stretch the existing piano brace…
Cheers!

hi lilycat, the procedure for creating new brackets would be: make a selection and click on the type of bracket you need.
It’s all in Engrave Mode in the left zone/panel.

Thanks for posting @k_b - unfortunately your suggestion would only replace the brace I had with a bracket, not add a bracket to my brace which is the outcome I want… like this:

Lilycat, I see, yes these thin brackets are sub-brackets. They need to be part of a bigger brace or bracket.
I can’t tell you about a proper workaround; is it possible to mis-use the line tool for it?

Thanks @k_b I will try that if I can’t find any other solutions!

Has anyone else found a work around?

May be one should expand the piano brace to also include the voice system.
That way it would be clear, it is the same player. This is for the score only I guess.
