Using External Sound Module with Dorico

Hi everyone,

I’m using Dorico 5 with a Yamaha DGX‑650 connected via USB (through a USB‑C hub). Dorico recognizes the keyboard as “Portable Grand”:

  • It already works perfectly as a MIDI input device – I can enter notes from the keyboard with no problem.

  • In Play mode / VST and MIDI, I also see “Portable Grand” listed.

What I cannot figure out is how to use the DGX‑650 as an external sound module for playback.

Having added the Yamaha as a MIDI Instrument, in the track inspector just route your instruments to it.

Thank you. This was not showing in the track inspector. Restarted both DGX and Dorico to fix it.
