Using Roland Studio Capture while recording, Cubase keeps running but stops recording

Hello everyone.

I was recording on Cubase AI 7 (version 7.0.80 build 2285, 64 bit)
using a Roland Studio Capture, on a laptop
|Processor|11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHz|
|Installed RAM|16,0 GB (15,8 GB usable)|
|64-bit operating system, x64-based processor|

Everything was going well for about 6 or 7 minutes.
Then the sound wave was not showing anymore, although the cursor kept running.
See images. I don’t know how to explain it.

What can cause this?
The very strange thing is that it does work for some minutes and then stops working. How can I fix this? Is it because my version is too old? Still… it does work for a while…
I had this trouble several times. It was not only once.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Is it just visual issue while recording? Do the waveform appear after you stopped the recording? If not, can you hear the sound even if there are no waveforms? Do the waveforms appear if you Zoom In or Zoom Out?

Hi.
No, it’s not only visual. When I stop recording all the area without waveform disappears. In the case of the image, the files would be 14m30s long.
So, not showing the waveform means it stops recording, although it continues to run and all the meters show sound coming in.

Hi,

Do you have enough free space at your disc? Do you use HDD or SSD?

Yes, enough space. It’s a SSD.

Hi,
Apparently I found the solution on another post.
Device setup → deactivate ASIO-Guard.

done.
Thanks Martin for the replies.
