There already is a great free set of these:

There’s already a version of this in the channel strip. Simply go to your mixer, and click “Racks” at the top center. Then click to show “Pre (Filters, Gain, Phase)” and there it is.

However it would be great to have a gain stage plugin, just so you can insert it anywhere in the chain. Steinberg please!

I agree, it would be great to have a stock gain insert!

I totally agree. I like to gain stage with a dedicated plugin. Ableton has Utility, Fl has something similar and I have to use the Blue cat’s plugin. Even though these are fine, I’d like to use as many stock plugins as possible so when I am on a different machine or have a new PC I don’t have to install gazillion number of plugins from different sites. This must be super easy to develop. Come one Steinberg. I believe in you!
