After I adjust a vocal in VariAudio, I can’t get it exported correctly. If I render it, it’s untouched. So -10%, adjusted to 0% ; after rendering comes back as -10%. If I flatten it, it comes back the first time as -5%. If I flatten it again, it comes back as -4%. It seems bizarre. If I bounce it, it’s untouched - even in real time. So If I sit with 8 lanes of vocal; comp it and then VariAudio each section - no matter what I do, if I export and re-import the audio, it’s not the same as the edited track. I just can’t get my head around this - why doesn’t render preserve the pitch changes? I’ve tried this on a Mac and W11. What’s the point of VariAudio without a ‘commit’ function which results in the exact values being written to the file? I need to send a vocal for mixing and I want the VariAudio information - which is very precise and musical - to be exactly the same as the original edited track. But it’s not. I must be missing something. Thank you.
I thought I was the only one with this issue… I don’t have an answer… I will ask Greg for help and post the answer when i’m sure it works!
Can you render an event without using VariAudio?
To be honest, I never used the flatten function. I either use “Bounce Selection” from the audio menu or Render In Place.
Hopefully some C13 owner can try to reproduce the faulty behaviour.
