I am working on a Psalter that has MANY verses per system. I would like to put vary the space between verses.
For instance, can I have single spacing between verses 1-4, 5-8, etc but have a little larger space between verses 4 and 5?
I have attached a png to show what I would like to do.
Also, I have the Bible verse numbers as small numbers placed among the lyrics. I have only been able to add these outside the staff in Dorico. Is there a way to accomplish this?
Thanks.
OK!
Just answered both of my questions with the same solution.
I appreciate how intuitive Dorico really is and how editing works the same universally. I just selected what I wanted to move and used “option+arrow key” to adjust.
It is a little tedious but it worked!

Well done! Also you can add modifier keys to nudge in larger increments:
Add Shift to move by ½ space … Add ⌘ to move by whole spaces
Thank you Mark. Those will be a big help. Been with Finale since the very beginning. Old dog learning new tricks! But it has been an enjoyable experience.
This cannot easily be done natively in Dorico. My solution is to modify the font itself, like so:
I called this font “Crimson-Superscript” and made all the normal numerals into superscripts. Then I just input this as “2how.”
Ah, I missed this since you solved your first question!
You could also just use Unicode superscript numerals: ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ ⁹ ⁰
It looks like a Garamond in your screenshot, so hopefully that has them. (If not, you get a fallback font that probably won’t match. And if you really want to tweak details, you could always edit the individual syllable to combine fonts.)
