So I’m trying to mix with VCA’s and running into the dreaded issues many have pointed out with individual member tracks of the VCA’s suddenly being set to different levels. I initially tried my mix by adding initial automation points to all VCA’s, but still had the bug.
Is the conensus that I need automation on all VCAs AND member tracks for them to work right?
Well there are lots of threads on this but for those who are curious it seems you need automation points on both the VCA channels and every track within a VCA group if you want your levels to stay where you put them.
Man is this feature so broken.
One other tip - if you can live without VCA faders themselves, I never have problems simply automating track groups without the VCA fader.
