I am working on a small choral piece right now, and have a flow for each verse. When cleaning up the formatting in Engrave mode, it does not translate to the layout I prepared for the full score. Is there any way I can maintain the look of a single flow when I use “new flows-allow on existing page“? Or will I need to create separate frames in for it in Engrave mode?
Many thanks, robert
You can set the Indent for the first system of a flow to Zero, and hide Staff Labels; then manually set them to show on the very first system using the Properties of a System Break.
And set Flow Headings not to show.
Each new flow will always be at the start of a new system, of course. Trying to ‘join’ two flows on the same system would be very difficult.
Thanks for you answering, much apreciated
Sorry for not being clear enough…. My question is about alligning/moving rehearsel marks, dynamic signs and so on. I prefer doing that on a per flow/verse basis.

You’ll need to show an image of what the problem is, and/or what you’re trying to achieve.

One flow per verse of a choral piece isn’t really the designed use case. What’s the reason that it can’t just be a single, continuous piece?
Yes, I am aware of that, and it is not strictly necessary, but this is simply my preferred way of working. So if it’s possible to have it working in a way that everything ends up in the place where I put it in individual flows, it would make me very happy.
Thanks for answering
You really need to specify what’s “not working” in your current situation, otherwise the only advice I can give you is not to use separate flows for this.

@hrnbouma @benwiggy I made something simple to demonstrate…. In the first image you can see the first flow adjusted in the engrave mode. In the second, a layout where I want the flows combined. As you can see, things are in different places than in the first.
Many thanks
Use the “Local / Global” switch in the Properties panel to apply adjustments to all Layouts.
You can also Propagate Properties to transfer properties from one layout to all others.
@benwiggy Wonderful. thank you! This helps a lot already, although there are still small differences with, for instance the alignment of hairpins. I guess this is because each layout has different content, and Dorico calculates accordingly? Anyway, happy with this newly acquired knowledge.
