Vertical adjustment of the Extender Line?

Hello. Is it possible to adjust the horizontal position of the Extender Line? By default, it appears as a solid line at the bottom of the lyrics, but I’d like to raise it to the middle.

No, this isn’t possible. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that in published music. What kind of score are you trying to replicate?

I cross-graded from Finale to Dorico. I’ve attached the actual sheet music used. And in Finale, users can adjust the horizontal level by changing the settings. Thank you.

I think it would be good to apply it to dorico as well, so I uploaded it for reference. Thank you.

Actually you mean the vertical adjustment

Just thinking of a workaround, which certainly is not ideal, and which works only if you don’t need hyphens elsewhere. These are hyphens:

In Engraving Options > Lyrics, choose as hyphen character (On Windows: Alt+0151), and set the values like this:

Then, when entering lyrics, press - instead of Space to move the popover to next note.

or:

(I’ll take the liberty of changing the title of the thread.)

Wouldn’t it be nice to have an option that allows users to modify the default line settings? That’s my opinion.

That’s a good idea. Thank you.

Out of curiosity: is it a common notation in Korean? I guess so, since you show a published piece with these high extender lines.

I think there are quite a few of these scores I’ve seen. Thank you.

There is also the option to show hyphens instead of extender lines:

The vertical position is better, but there seems to be no setting to adjust them to be continuous.

This method is currently being used. I’m using it by entering the character corresponding to the Korean character ㅡ. Thank you.
