Vertical alignment changed because of

Hi everyone,

working on a guitar lead sheet I noticed the intersystem distance changed between two staves and I realised it is due to the repeat sign I inserted (MusGlyph font); is there a way to solve this? (apart from removing repeat sign even if it’s not strictly necessary and/or adjusting distances manually).

I also tried to remove cue but things got worse (can’t tell why…)

Thank you,

Hey! Is this a text item? If so, you could flip the avoid collisions property in the panel in engrave mode.

Hi @YourMusic.Pro!

Yes, it’s definitely a text item (MusGlyph font), that I used after reading a post on a thread in this forum about repetition signs for chords (MusGlyph, as I suppose you know better than me, is a font suggested by John Barron in one of his tutorials and you can find it on NotationCentral website).

Your tip was ok and I solved my issue but I ask why the issue occurred only for that specific sign and not for the others? Dorico is a wonderful but really very complex software!

Thank you so much for helping!

You should set this up as a paragraph style and turn off the property that avoids collisions. That’s the best way to deal with unexpected spacing issues. You’ll need to do a little bit of manual adjustment of the item itself, but I think that’s still the way to go.

Wait, actually you can set the default placement distance higher above the staff as well… So definitely make it a paragraph style.
