In the properties panel for lyrics you can input a horizontal and vertical offset for each syllable.
Inputting a horizontal offset (X) moves the syllable to the right or left as aspected. Inputting a vertical offset (Y) does nothing with the syllable.
Am I missing something or is this a bug?

You can offset lyrics, but as a whole, using engrave options (cmd-shift-E) and lyrics. But it is not possible (yet) for just one syllable.
It’s not a bug, Thomas, but rather than changing the vertical position of lyrics on a system-by-system basis is not yet supported in Dorico. I hope that we will be able to support this in the future.
A suggestion: For reduced choral scores (Is that the term? I mean one staff S/A, one T/B) it would be useful to have a property for centering lyrics between the staves. Much like it’s already possible for dynamics between the staves of multi-staff instruments.
