Vertical video - incorrect display in C13.0.50

Latest update on this with C14.0.30

Throughout this thread I’ve been testing with one specific video clip…

To recap, this one clip refuses to display (playback) in the correct orientation in C14.0.20 and having now checked, it also fails in C14.0.30

It loads and displays fine in StudioOne v6.6.4 and VLC player on the desktop and Windows Media Player (Win10 and on a separate Win11 machine). Note the detail from the MediaInfo txt file attached in my original post - it’s a normal landscape frame orientation 3840x2160 clip, but has a ‘Rotation’ setting of 270. Maybe its a clue.?

So, I’m unsure from the C14.0.30 release notes what exactly was addressed here wrt vertical video support, since I’ve tested other properly formatted vertical video which I downloaded from a video clip site (i.e. 1080x1920 or 2160x3840) and regardless of the ‘Aspect Ratio=Internal’ setting in Cubase’s video player, these display correctly in C14.0.20 anyway.! They are also fine in C14.0.30.
Two test files zipped up:-

[By the way, the ‘Cyclist_Palm’ 2160x3840 video clip here, gives badly stuttering playback in the Cubase video engine (C14.0.20 and C14.0.30) whereas it plays smooth as butter in StudioOne, VLC player, Media Player, on the same machine. Try it yourselves, let me know.! System specs in profile.]

So, maybe @m.chulek it is just this last piece of the puzzle that the video engine needs attending to - respecting support for ‘rotation’ parameter.? Otherwise, maybe I’ve been wrong all along, as it seems Cubase video player has been handling (properly formatted) vertical video ok since before C14.0.30
