Hi, I am Japanese user.
How do I write the lyrics vertically.
Not under the note. I put only the text on the last page.
or Can I insert .PDF file to page like as graphic data?

I’m afraid Dorico doesn’t support vertical text orientation natively. You can’t embed a PDF in a Dorico project, but you can convert your PDF to an SVG using a graphics program and then import that SVG in a graphics frame in Engrave mode.
Hi, Thank you for solution, I tried it (PDF to SVG). but it did not work correctly. I converted a Japanese vertical text PDF file to SVG by online convert service. I checked the file in Microsoft Edge browser, it was converted and displayed correctly.
However, when I imported the file into graphic frame, it did not display correctly. Horizontal English text(PDF to SVG) could not be imported correctly, too.
Is the conversion broken? Or is it a import problem?
I’ll report it anyway.
Vertical text.zip (495.6 KB)
Is this the sort of result you are trying to achieve?
If so, what I did was to create a text frame and paste in the Japanese text.
(I did a quick internet search for sample Japanese text and then copied what I found. I don’t know if it makes any sense, and I hope it is not offensive.)
After pasting the text I pressed Enter/Return after each character, to force the next one onto a new line. If you need to, you can create another text frame and do the same.
Thank you , Steven,
I would like to create a page with only the lyrics at the end of the score music. I know that way, If there is only one line of text, I can do it that way, but it is multiple lines, it becomes a very complicated process.

It was not offensive, there was no meaning
@Toshi.O, when you convert your PDF to SVG, you need to make sure that you convert all font characters to outlines/paths, so that correct rendering of the SVG file doesn’t rely on the presence of a specific font.
It may be easier to output Dorico’s music as a PDF, and then add the vertical text in DTP software, like Indesign, Affinity Publisher, Scribus, etc.
@dspreadbury ,Thank you, I did it!
Yesterday , I converted SVG by online service, but I remembered that I had Adobe Illustrator. I used it to save the PDF as SVG (using the outline option)
I would like to be able to import .PDF or treat vertical text as editable text.
@benwiggy,Thank you
Yes, I know that way, I want to manage vertical text in an editable state on Dorico, if possible.
