Cubase is displaying video files zoomed in, with a lot of the outsides cut off. It looks like that any which way I resize the window. I included two pictures: One of a shot of text in Cubase, and one of the same text simply playing in Windows Media Player for comparison.
Did you manage to resolve this? I have the same problem.
It seems Cubase doesn’t handle 4K video very well. I used a video converter to downgrade the video to standard 1080 and it worked fine.
Seems a little bogus that two years later I still need to do this workaround
Cubase only fully supports FHD (1080x1920) video, if you have a larger video it will be cropped.
Thanks for the debate, I faced same issue recently. In the operations manual, I found this, for clarity’s sake:
Cheers

They could easily reduce user confusion by throwing up a warning with the information that it will be cropped. The video file already has the resolution information in it’s metadata. All the information they need is readily available for the developers to communicate with the user.
Just scouring the internet to find out why my video is punched in 200% in Cubase and here i am. I assume this isn’t a problem in Nuendo? Is that what you pay the upgrade for? Seems silly. I do t even wanna bring up Logic, but this isn’t a problem there.
I have this same problem in Nuendo 13
