Video Director Monitor

Hi!

About the Video Director Monitor:

Its a really cool feature, but actually useless. Why? If it is opened in one song, I have to re-open it manually when I change to the next song. With the normal Monitors it works without any difficulty also by changing the songs. Is there any setting to to to keep it opened while changing songs?

seems there is something, I’m experiencing the same with.

all of this will be fixed with the next version. Only the director monitor window will have to be opened for director, automation, and OBS to keep working.

I’m facing with an issue (v3.0.31)
All video monitors are opened (track, VD, VDm).
1 video / 1 song.

Changing songs, not updating VDm. Need to reselect ā€œMONITORā€ in VD

ScreenRecording for repro:

Good one, fixed with the next version. It will remember and restore the video view selection for each Song seperately.

Good morning!
Unfortunately I still experience different issues (like the one above). Please let me know, how could I help you with these?

will check.

You recognise the ā€˜faded’ video, right? Just letting u know, if I toggle VD-monitor tick, it goes back to correct colours (as seen on Video1 and VDm)

yes, that’s the overlay going wrong (it shows the number and title), will try to reproduce.

Stop sending screen captures. ā€œWhen I switch there is a grey overlayā€ is sufficient.

Made a rough analysis of the many screen captures from this forum. Only approx 2% are helpful, the remainder is just eating time. Nearly 80% try to proove a problem, we do beleive you w/o visual proof.

Almost always, a textual description is way more helpful, possibly with a .vlprj file, those are small and most of the time we don’t need audio or video files along with it. Thank you for understanding, but we found ourselves spending so much time watching these videos and trying to figure out what they are supposed to show or say…better use words :slight_smile:

This is actually a good example. Are you using the Video Director with just one video track? Looking at your screen capture, there are many windows and now trying to figure out what it all means…

Yepp, just one video trk in this example, ( bec. OBS integr needs using VD )

Looks like there is or was a dangling video overlay from the VD view. Pls. try again with the next version.

Also - at least on my system - at song change the VDm view not starting to show new song’s VDout but showing prevSong’s last VDplayed frame. I still need to toggle VD’s-monitor-checkbox

//
with other words, the last update couldn’t fix this:

//

should work with the next version, thanks!

This actually sounds exactly like the issue Im having - when there is a video transition of some description I get a random grey overlay (sometimes).

I’ve logged here but maybe can close that if its being dealt with on this ticket?

These may be different issues. Please try again with the next version and feel free to report if it doesn’t cure your case.

didn’t want to write any word during Easter days :slight_smile:
The gray color overlay still happens with some (always with the same ones, e.g. Flirt Waltz) songs. Info: the gray overlay is rather appyes to the ā€œcompleteā€ VD view, not on the video content itself.

The remained last frame in VDm can happen 1x-2x, but can’t repro anymore constantly… so the tweaks in the code definitely reduced the occurence, but couldn’t fully elmininate yet.

(could only test on mac)

We found a (the?) problem, but only Saturday morning, too late for the last version. Pls try again with the next one. There are multiple reports here, though; the fix mentioned above relates to Video Director views (not Monitor) showing a light gray overlay.
