video engine won't load upon start-up

Just upgraded to Wavelab Elements 10.0.40. When I start it up, I get a notice that the video engine couldn’t be loaded. I reinstalled elements and still get the same message on start-up. What can I Do to remedy this?

I’m on a PC with Windows 10.

Hey,

can you please make a screenshot of the error message?

Thanks,
René

Rene, please see attached

Rene,

please see attached

Ok, you are running Windows 10, is that right?

Can you please go to C:\Program Files\Steinberg\WaveLab Elements\Components and check if videoengine.dll resides in that folder?

And please tell what kind of graphics card you are using.

Thanks,
René

It is in the the first post: 10.0.40

Furthermore tell me the exact WaveLab Elements version you are running, please.

Thanks,
René

Version: Wavelab Elements 10.0.40 (build 127)
Video Card is AMD Radeon HD6570
There is no folder named /Components. I checked all the other folders and the videoengine.dll was not included.

thanks
Frank

Hey Frank,

I just installed WL Elements on my machine. The video engine was installed correctly to:

C:\Program Files\Steinberg\WaveLab Elements 10.0\Components\videoengine.dll

Otherwise something with your installation failed I believe.

Did you use the Steinberg Download Assistant (Steinberg Download Assistant | Steinberg)?

Greets,
René

Can you also please tell me from which WaveLab version you have upgraded?

Maybe it helps to deinstall and install again using the “WL Elements 10.0.40 Full” installer from the Steinberg Download Assistant.

Thanks,
René

Initially, I installed Full Elements 10.0.40 from the Steinberg download Assistant. The other day I went to Steinberg main site and downloaded the full version from the Products/downloads page. That failed as well.

I upgraded from WaveLab Elements 9.5

I’ll try to deinstall and reinstall.

Thanks
Frank
