What video formats/codecs are better to use in VST Live on M1 mac?

I need to compile a huge live project with video playbacks
Cannot be answered like that. There are a lot of video formats, and for instance “mp4” is just a container, as is “mov”, so it doesn’t excactly tell you what’s in there.
In general, mp4 files are supported and perform well. Other than that, there are too many factors like graphics card etc. Cannot answer this question, you may look to find other users experiences with your system. Or just try some and compare.
h.264 has hardware support on the m1 macs so I would opt for that codec.
