Video Not Importing in Cubase

Hi, I have been a Cubase user for years but have only recently got into video/ audio syncing, so sorry if this is something really basic I’m missing here! My problem is that I am trying to import a video file into Cubase 6 but it won’t appear. I have created a video track and selected ‘import video file’ from the File menu. I have tried importing an MP4 video as well as a Quicktime Movie video and an avi, none of which have worked. When I’m in the Import video browser window, a message comes up on the bottom left reading “invalid or not supported file!”. As far as I am aware though Cubase DOES support these three file types! It would be surprising if it didn’t as they seem to be the most common.

Can anyone tell me what I’m missing here?

Cheers!

Cubase uses Quicktime player for video, try opening your files there first to see if they’re compatible.

Thanks for responding, I’ve sorted it now, I just downloaded quicktime and it works fine!

Cheers!

Nice, glad that worked
