I got this issue, which i cant figure out.
Sometimes when importing a .mov, i get a white screen when playing. But the thumbs in the arranger window are showing. I can view it in QT7, VLC, WMP etc. But not in Cubase.
It happens randomly ?
What the h… is happening ?
Oh…then i must try to update. Its just that my system is very stable as it is now, except for the video issue, and i am a bit worried if the update will bring new issues.
I will return, when i get it done!
I just finished 2 projects, and got no important projects round the corner, so i took the chance and ran the update.
And then suddenly, after going from 6.0.0 too 6.0.5, my good old trusty Matrox G550 is too old!! …haha…
So now i have to buy myself a new graphic card
Aha, an old Gt550, I still have one in and old machine and it was expensive at the time. However, recently for my Win7 PC I bought the cheapest silent card (heatsink only, no fan) I could find instead of spending for high end as usual - just to see if it made any difference. It’s fine in all ways! Dual head, 1920x1600 displays, video fine, zero noise, can’t argue. It’s an ATI Radeon HD 5450, 1GB, DDR3, £30 or so. So, just saying, you don’t necessarily have to buy a high end graphics card, cheap works for me here.
Mike.
P.S. Hmm, you’re probably talking old PCI/AGP though, that’d be more tricky…
Yeah its an old AGP card
And i just checked my mobo and there is no PCIe…
Man…so I should get a new PC to get rid of my problem…bummer!
Or find an AGP card that works. Hm…
Matrox graphic cards
Parhelia, M 912x, M 913x, M 914x, M 918x (Note that these cards are not recommended mainly due to performance issues but can be used nevertheless.)
I personally tend towards popular graphics cards on the basis that there’s plenty of people ‘public beta testing’ them! And that means regular driver bug updates while they’re current.
