Hey all,
VSL is closing out their VI series (non-SYNCHRON-ized). Their ‘Solo Strings I’ is on sale for $151.94 US. Has anyone used this library in Dorico Pro? I have BBC SO Core and SYNCHRON Prime (as well as almost all Garritan libraries and have access to a few “so-so” solo strings there ), but would really like an affordable, good-sounding solo string library. The ‘Solo Strings I’ sounds very good, but as it is not SYNCHRON-ized, I’d like to be sure it will be useable in Dorico. The SYNCHRON-ized version of ‘Solo Strings I’ is $650.00. No way I could possibly pay that. Any help in deciding will be much appreciated.
Yes it can. VSL doesn’t provide Playback Templates for any of the VI series, but there’s a company that does, Symphonic Riot.

although I prefer my own maps for the Synchron_ized library to Symphonic Riot’s VI route (I still have the VI solo strings installed but never really use them any more), if you want to save both time and money, they’re a good option and may well work well for your music.
If you happen to have a string quartet or similar score, I could create a version using the Symphonic Riot template which would give you an idea of what to expect.
