I am using Dorico Pro 5 (60 days trial version) I was using Finale for my notation music. I had Vietnamese typing keyboard to put on some characters. Vietnamese typing keyboard works fine with Finale. When I tried on Dorico Pro 5, Vietnamese keyboard typing works fine with Heading and Text box, but it doesn’t work with the Lyric box when I input the lyric. After typing the character, it deletes all preceding typing, keep the vowel with character only. In order to have the language appear correctly, I tried to use the Lyric Editor: EDIT =>NOTATION=>LYRIC EDITOR, in this window, the Vietnamese keyboard typing work fine. Can any one help me with this issue? Why the VN typing works fine in one place but not on the other?

Hi @tuanvucmc, and welcome to Dorico!
The lyrics popover responds differently because it is programmed to handle certain characters in special ways, such as Space and hyphen.
This is a problem for the developers to solve. They will see this thread, and will probably reply when they have time.
For now, hyphenated Vietnamese text can be copied from a separate window and pasted one syllable at a time into the popover, and will display correctly. (Actually this is how I always like to enter English lyrics.)
P.S. Note that Dorico’s default lyric font, Academico, lacks the full Vietnamese character set. When I paste in your text using Academico, the accented letters show in a fallback font, which doesn’t match. You can set a suitable font for lyrics in Library > Paragraph Styles > Lyrics.
