Vintage Classics update may contain a virus?

Installed all the new updates for Retrologue no problem, and my security software Norton has highlighted a possible virus/malware called Heur.AdvMLB.
This may may require action or is it a false detection?

Hope this does not affect onyone negatively.

If Windows Defender doesn’t flag the file, I would presume it’s a false positive.

Did you download that file via a message you received from Steinberg Support? Becasue:

The following VST Instrument Sets cannot be downloaded directly:

  • Sounds of Soul
  • Vintage Classics

In case you own one of these VST Instrument Sets and you have lost the original installer file […] please contact our support team.

Hi Steve
No, I used download assistant as I usually do (makes it easier).
Downloaded and installed along with the Retrologue update and associated factory library files.
Just thought Steinberg and the community should know in case it is real, though I understand Norton and some of the third party Virus protection software can give false reports.

That information is now out-of-date. Sounds of Soul and Vintage Classics used to be supplied as fully licensed installers. In 2021, the licensed installers were discontinued and previous purchasers were issued with Download Access Codes to activate eLicenser licenses, with downloads on Steinberg Download Assistant. These libraries have now migrated to Steinberg Licensing.

Thank you @David_W, I’ll update that post.

A post was split to a new topic: Have not received the code to migrate to the new licensing
