Visible measure numbers in galley view

Currently in galley view, there are instrument names in a gray-ish color, and also measure numbers. However, the measure numbers only attach the physical top staff, and not all the way down as you move south in the score. It would be helpful if the measure numbers showed up on different staves as you moved away from the top staff.

Is there a way to change this, and I am just missing it?

Robby

Since Galley View contains multiple staves for Instrument Changes, Robby’s idea to continue to see measure numbers sounds like a good one.

Yes, I agree that the bar numbers should really appear on all staves in galley view. I hope we’ll be able to address this relatively soon.

There have been one or two adjustments with guide bar numbers in galley view over versions. I think it would be nice to have a few more options with them though as my eyesight is poor so I find the grayed out aspect difficult to cope with esp if I am looking at the score zoomed out a bit.

Ideally it would be nice to have options for guide bar numbers for size, bold or not bold and color or grayed out.

Not everyones cup of tea I know but the choice would be good. I am working on a time code sync project with Cubase Nuendo currently and it is reassuring to see that the bars tempo map and time sigs are all roughly lining up between both applications as I view the notation detail. Play view of course shows bar numbers more clearly anyway - but more options on display of them in galley view would be very nice. Thanks all. Do correct me if some of these changes have been made in recent Dorico versions.

I think you can adjust the Galley View Margin Labels paragraph style in Library > Paragraph Styles to adjust not only the text at the left-hand side of the view that shows the instrument name, but also the bar numbers above each bar.

Thanks - yes read that elsewhere on the forum - although someone said that did the trick with instrument names only. Will give it a go tomorrow anyway - thanks again Daniel.

Probably doing something stupid here.
Can see a change with galley instrument labels when i scroll right a little. No change though to appearance of guide bar numbers. The dialogue box is meant to apply to both? Help much appreciated as ever .

(Windows 11 Dorico version 5 latest update)

The Galley View Margin Labels paragraph style does not affect the bar numbers. I have not seen a way to change them.

Would be great if in a future update the option to modify the galley margin bar numbers could be effected. It’s a minor detail but might be helpful for those with sight accessability challenges. Hope it wouldn’t be too difficult to implement. Thanks…
