VL1 is a better Midi player than VL2!

Hello,

Tonight, I opened my Project by right clicking on it in the Windows File Explorer, and selecting “VST Live.exe” inside the “c:\Programs\Steinberg\VST Live 2” folder as default program. I don’t know why it still opened in VL1, that I haven’t used since the first Betas of VL2…

Being curious, I started my Midi tracks and had a huge surprise: every note was played! Even those that are missed at the first beat of some clips in VL2.

VST Live 1.4.75 plays Midi Tracks better than V2.2.

@musicullum , I’m sending you another simple Project with a single Song. The Drums Track, from 3.1 to 7.1 is made up of 8 copies of the same 1/2 bar Clip, that I have named from A to H. Notes at the very beginning of Clips C (bar 4) and G (bar 6) are ignored. Then, to test, I deleted G and replace it with a copy of F, and the result is exactly the same. The notes at 6.1 are muted, while still visible in the editor.

If I position the playhead at 6.1, then start, I can hear all the notes, but if I loop the section 3.1 ~ 7.1, the bug is there, each time…

Playing the loop with the actual (development) version (to come Friday we hope), and all notes play fine all the time, regardless of where starting. So pls check it again then, and thanks for the project!

Is it also tested with delays in the track (+/-10ms e.g.). I noticed, that this also can lead to lost notes in a loop. Thats also true for DMX.

That’s possible.
