Just a stab in the dark here … but are you perhaps using the Control Room, and the click volume slider(s) there might be turned down too low?

If you are using Control Room, you can check to see if the click volume slider in Control Room is all the way up (open up Control Room, open up each individual send control and look for the click volume slider. There may also be a “global click volume” slider down near the bottom of the Control Room window).
If you are not hearing any click at all, the click volume control may also be found in the “connections window/dialog” that opens when you push the F4 button on the top of your keyboard (sorry, i can’t recall the official name). But if you are hearing a click but just too soft i don’t think the answer lies there, as it’s only a “toggle click on/off”, IIRC.
