So I was reading an article in Sound On Sound from 2012 which discusses recording guitars with VST Amp Rack. I noticed it looks almost the same as the VST Amp Rack in Cubase 11. Has it been updated in recent versions of Cubase, or are we stuck with an amp modelling VST that is possibly 10 or more years old? I mean it sounds great and all, but you’d think Cubase would’ve updated it by now.
hi - yes, I think it’s the same. It’s tricky because there are so many areas that need developing - and you only need to read the forums to see that people get really angry if their favourite parts of Cubase don’t get any love
There are loads of great and cheap amp sims out there - if you want ‘free’ try the new Amplitube 5 CS or the Guitar Rig player - both are great and better that the VST amp rack IMO

I would prefer, if Steinberg would pay even less attention to the stuff that can be done via plugins and extensions and concentrate more on the stuff that can’t easily be done by 3rd party developers.
