I’m using macOS Sonoma.
My issue is with VST connect pro 5.6. I have occasionally had this issue, but it would usually resolve on its own. This time, it’s stuck.
I recorded a complete session with a remote performer. When I clicked the get HD files button in VST connect Pro, instead of getting the files, it displays a blue busy bar at the bottom.
To work around this, I had the performer compress and send me the HD files. When I open up VST connect pro on my end and try to get local HD files, it simply does nothing. It did tell me there was no project file a few times when I was looking in the wrong folder, but then I finally directed it to the correct folder and nothing happens. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. VST connect.
When I was trying to get HD files while connected to the performer, We both did multiple restarts to try to resolve the issue. In the past, this is what has fixed the issue for me.
I hope someone can help.
I sporadically had a similar problem on my last big VST Connect project… as well as the HD files occasionally not being recorded at all on the client end (and obviously, they were not importable on my side).
It would be great if these issues could be identified, corroborated and fixed!
They are certainly real.
FWIW, my workaround (or failsafe, anyway) is to have my local files set for the highest resolution. They don’t come in at the same level nor do they exactly match sonically with the HDs sent from the client end, but they’re close enough that Tonal Match can make them passable. For me, that offsets the VST Connect’s instability in some situations to the point that I continue to use it; it’s a remarkable piece of software, and will be even more so when these very fundamental issues are resolved.
I’ve offered to participate in pressure-testing VST Connect, seeing as how I’ve used it on many mission-critical projects (especially audiobooks), but so far my services have not been called upon. Still here, though! And very willing.
Best of luck to both of us!

Performer should use this function while connected to the project:
They were connected to the project. I was connected as well.
As a workaround, I imported the files to the pool, and inserted them at the origin and it worked but half of the song was missing. I have no idea why that would be.
Did you use the method shown in the picture, or tried manually? The latter may not work as expected.
I did do the procedure you suggested. I remotely controlled the performer computer while connected to the project and clicked on the export button you circled. I unzipped the file on my end after transferring the file to my computer. I opened my copy of VST Connect Pro and clicked on “get local HD files” and pointed the dialogue box at the files. It didn’t do anything.
