VST effects are now crashing Cubase on Mac

I can only add samples to the drum track from the media bay - not from the main page.

Some of the VST effects are now crashing Cubase - such as WahWah and Vocoder

Hi,

You are running Cubase 14 at unsupported macOS 12. Only macOS 13, 14 and 15 are supported.

So i upgraded to Sonoma and the same problems persist. Here’s the crash report.

When exactly did the crash happen, please? Did you insert one of the mentioned plug-in on a track?

it’s immediate. If I put wahwah, vocoder, or vocal chain on as insert cubase crashes.

I’m going back to C13. C14 is unusable for me - I just crashed 3 times whilst try to set up mono versions of external effects. Putting Fabfilter Pro-L for safety on the master bus crashed it and I crashed two other times.

To be able to report this to Steinberg, I need some clarification, please.

By External Effects, do you mean 3rd part plug-in? I.e. FabFilter Pro in this case?

Is your Master Bus an output Channel, or is it a Group Channel? What configuration of the Channel is it? Is it Stereo or Mono?

I have some external 500 series gear and I was setting up mono instances as well as the existing stereo instances that I’ve been using previously because of C14s more relaxed approach to i/o .

The last crash in the list I was changing the i/o of the external gear in audio connections. 2nd crash I put Pro-L on the stereo out as an insert. Can’t remember exactly what happened on that first crash.

Master channel is the stereo out.

Hi -

Just to add to this. I deleted my prefs and I no longer have the problem - I can open Vocal Chain.

However if I then go in Audio Connections and load the preset containing my inputs - I crash when I try to open vocal chain.
